92' Jones Goodell Nordlund

Recent Listing!! This is a 92' yacht fisherman, a four stateroom motor yacht with a large fishing cockpit with fighting chair and baitwell. Full beam master stateroom is in high gloss zebra wood, the forward VIP is in high gloss wenge wood. The entire yacht had a major refit in 2004 with all new headliners, the galley and heads have marble counters. The engine room is spotless, with one of the 16V92 Detroit Diesel engines replaced last August and the other in late 2007 with 350 hours. A wave runner, two kayaks and a dive compressor to refill tanks gives this yacht all the toys. Priced at $1,499,000. Jones Goodell was a Tacoma, Washington builder that built many custom yachts. I have been told that they went into a partnership with Nordlund Yachts to build a Ed Monk design hull mold that could be used by both yards and that this hull was built at Nordlund the moved to the Jones Goodell yard for finishing. Although Jones Goodell is no longer in business, Don Goodell, son of one of the original partners, is doing yacht refit and carpentry to this day. Nordlund Yachts is still building custom yachts in Tacoma now. I have read but can not confirm that the 10% luxury tax on boats imposed in 1990 was the prime factor in the yard closing, and it was a few years for that tax to be repealed. http://www.nordlundboat.com
$18,000 FLORIDA SALES TAX CAP NOW LAW IN FLORIDA
The Florida Maritime Full Employment Act has now been signed into law and became effective July 1, 2010. This law caps sales tax on a yacht purchased in Florida at $18,000. At the 6% rate there is now no addtional tax on boats sold over $300,000.
Since many of the larger yachts sold here were flagged in foreign countries and no tax was paid in the US, it is expected that many buyers will register their boats in Flodrida to avoid the foreign flag issues such as cruising permits, and Florida will actually get more tax revenue than before. Another advantage for a buyer is that they will no longer have to leave Florida after 90 days or 180 days, which was a requirement previously for non resident purchasers. This should keep more boats in Florida, and that will mean more boats and yachts getting work done at Florida boat yards, and more American crew.
Florida also has a program for non resident buyers who purchase boats here that allows them to use a boat in Florida for 180 days with no tax due to Florida

1996 55' FLEMING INCOMPLETE PROJECT
This yacht sank in one of the hurricanes. It has been repaired and repainted with rebuilt Cummins 450 engines along with new generator, new wiring, new air conditioning, new electronics and more. To become certified, a yacht broker must have extensive experience, pass a peer review, and take a thorough test on all aspects of yacht sales. In Broward County, Florida, there are over 1100 licensed yacht brokers and salespeople, but only 25 are Certified Professional Yacht Brokers. As of June 2008, there are approximately 500 Certified Professional Yacht Brokers in the United States and Canada.

With a central listing of a yacht with a value over $350,000 we offer free undercover dockage in our Yacht Showroom. There is a charge for electricity and services, but the undercover dockage is free, and we can accommodate yachts undercover up to 150 feet.

Docking, electronics, anchoring, what to do in the engine room and more. Not just 30 minutes at the dock, but enough time for the new owner to increase his comfort level. For some buyers it is three hours, for some it may be three days. These instructions are also available at an hourly or daily rate for all recent boat and yacht buyers.
