SELLING YOUR YACHT UNDERCOVER DOCKS IN FORT LAUDERDALE How does having your yacht in our Yacht Showroom help it sell sooner? Location, location, location. Fort Lauderdale is the yachting capital of the U.S. and buyers from all over the world come here to buy the yacht of their dreams. The Yacht Showroom is the only undercover dockage dedicated to brokerage yachts in Florida, and this means more buyers come here to see multiple yachts on display. Bradford Marine Yacht Sales actively encourages other yacht brokers to sell our listings on a co-brokerage basis, and these brokers know that they can show these yachts in any weather, in a location that is easy to get to. We send "Broker Broadcasts" by email and fax to yacht brokers throughout the world, to inform them of the latest yachts to come into the Showroom, to notify them of price changes, or give them other information to encourage their clients see the yachts here. Periodically we will have a Yacht Broker's Open House inviting hundreds of yacht brokers to come to see the yachts on display. Many yacht brokers come to the Yacht Showroom to see the yachts here each week. Often they will come to inspect one particular yacht and then inspect many more while they are here. What this means to a seller is that their yacht has greater promotion to more buyers and has a better chance to sell sooner. YACHT SHORT SALE, YACHT DISTRESS SALE, YACHT REPOSSESSION FOR SELLERS NOT BUYERS, if your situation forces a sale, let us negotiate with your bank to arrange a SHORT SALE, to promote the boat to other yacht brokers world wide as a distress sale or to control a repssession sale to help protect you. Why list your yacht for sale with Tucker Fallon? I have been in the marine industry most of my life, starting with with my own boat cleaning service when I was 14 years old, back in 1961. On the ABOUT US page I have written some autobiography of my self. After having my captain's license for 36 years, it is going to be a rare, and unusual experience for me to meet a buyer who knows more about yachts than I do. Besides my marine experience, my experience with different yacht brokerage companies and boat dealerships, I attended Boston College and majored in marketing. The concepts of marketing a yacht have not changed over the years, but the methods of promotion have changed in the computer age. I present to sellers a written Marketing Plan of how I intend to market the yacht. This plan is customized to the particular yacht and is written based on size, type, and price of the yacht. The internet is now a boat show 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and I use it extensively to get yachts sold and to get new listings. I write a listing for a yacht specifically to appeal to the type of buyer that may be interested in that type of yacht. I want my listings to sound better, and make the yacht more appealing, to get more potential buyers to spend their time and effort to inspect it. After 14 years of boat and yacht sales, I have learned some of what buyers are looking at when they inspect a yacht. I can advise the seller as to what can be done to make the yacht more appealing, but done in a way that there is a positive return on the money invested to prepare the yacht for sale. After 14 years of sea trials with surveyors, I know many of the items that they will be looking for, and can advise a seller of the best way to have a favourable survey. Having been a captain on private yachts I can relate to the crew onboard a yacht for sale, and can enlist their aid in getting the yacht sold. My network of service providers can assist the owner of a boat for sale without crew, to find the right service, and I can provide cleaning and yacht management while it is for sale. In April 2008, I earned the designation of Certified Professional Yacht Broker, one of only 474 certified brokers in the US as of June 1, 08. BOATS AND YACHTS IN OTHER LOCATIONS
Now in the age of the internet yacht owners in other locations can take advantage of the extenisve advertising that Bradford Marine Yacht Sales does each month. If you own a yacht anywhere in the world contact me at tucker@yachtbrokerguy.com to find out what kind of marketing can be done to get your boat sold. FREE DOCKAGE FOR SELLERS
THE YACHT SHOWROOM Here at the shipyard, one of the original undercover dock sheds has a clearance of 28 feet, too low for many mega yachts, and this shed is now The Yacht Showroom, the only undercover dockage dedicated to brokerage yachts in Florida. At any one time there are 15 to 25 yachts for sale in the Showroom from 40 feet and up. Bradford Marine Yacht Sales has a program for free dockage for sellers in this showroom. There is a charge for electricity and even that is reduced, but the dockage itself is free. This is a great benefit for sellers because many buyers come to inspect the yachts here, and can see many different boats in one location. Plus many brokers with other yacht brokerage companies come here to view the yachts available. We encourage brokers from other companies to co-broker with us, and the more buyers that view a boat, the sooner it will sell. For larger yachts that need more than 28 feet of clearance we have other undercover yacht sheds for vessels to 150 feet.
Bradford Marine Yacht Sales advertises in the national boating magazines such as Yachting, Boat International, Southern Boating, Showboats, Power and Motor Yacht and others. We advertise on the internet on Yacht World, Yacht Council, Boats.com and other sites. We have our own web site with our own in house marketing, advertising and graphics team. Bradford Marine Yacht Sales is the brokerage division of Bradford Marine in Fort Lauderdale, one of the world’s largest undercover yacht repair facility. Bradford Marine opened in 1966 on the New River, about 5 miles inland from the ocean. Dieter Cosman and his partners were way ahead of their time with the building of a large 300 ton capacity synchrolift to haul large yachts for service, when large yachts were less common than today. Now our ability to haul yachts up to 150 feet limits the megayachts that can be serviced, and another Bradford Marine shipyard has been constructed on Grand Bahama Island with a 1200 ton floating dry-dock. We participate in the major Florida boat shows such as the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, The Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show, and the Palm Beach Boat Show. Boat Show Link The Yacht Showroom as seen from Fort Lauderdale's New River One more side note, I just read an article in a boating magazine about more boats getting hit by lightning in Florida than any other state, and I thought having a yacht undercover will certainly cut down on lightning strikes!!!
